Which products may bear the RAL Quality Mark for Candles?
Candles or lights may only be labeled with the RAL Quality Mark for Candles, which is protected as a European trademark, if the manufacturer has first passed the admission procedure to the Quality Association for Candles. The various candle products can then be tested by DEKRA. For every candle and every light with a quality mark, DEKRA issues a report stating that it has passed the test. And to prevent cheating, DEKRA takes samples from the market every month, which are then also tested.
This is tested by DEKRA in accordance with the test specifications of Gütegemeinschaft Kerzen e.V. The test conditions correspond to typical use indoors without draughts.
Because appearance, shapes, colors, dimensions and wicks are not only good, but always equally good – reliable.
Candles and lights burn evenly and do not drip. The customer can be sure that the specified burning time is adhered to.
This is ensured by the strict limit values. These limit values are checked again and again and safeguarded by a certified quality management system in the supply chain. For the customer, this means that PAHs, heavy metals, sulphur, etc. are taboo. This applies to all candles and lights, including all components of the candle, such as fuels, paints, varnishes, wicks and fragrances.
